At Next Step our patients get the
Special Care & Attention they need

Next Step Counselling is a small, local practice that caters to our client’s individual needs – with us, you won’t get the big box experience! We care about each client, and can offer an experience that is both unique and personal. Our services are tailored specifically to our clients, creating a safe, therapeutic space that is right for you. As a smaller practice, we have a group of local therapists with unique specialities that we can match to your needs so that you can get the most out of your experience. We specialize in clinical counselling for those suffering in areas such as stress, anxiety, relationship problems and depression. We understand that life can have many challenges, and our goal is to help people navigate through life’s tougher situations. Next Step is based on the philosophy that through authentic connections and strength based interventions, individuals within our community can move forward through their next steps in life.

Testimonials

  •

A wonderful experience, even with less frequent sessions I have regained understanding of myself and my struggles. I have also been given tools that prevent me from backsliding on my mental health journey. Kindness and patience are what you will find here.”

After many years of counselling I arrived at Next Stop expecting the more of same, listening and guiding. However, Hailey’s approach, including using EMDR, was very different to previous therapy and empowered me. Within a few months I felt a huge difference that has been long-lasting since stopping a few months ago. I highly recommend Next Step! Thank you.”

“Christina is interpersonal without being too personal. She directs the session while allowing me to address what I need to. I enjoy being spoken to like a human rather than a patient.”

“Christina has an intuitive ability to see what’s behind the issue. As a result of our couples’ counselling, I am able to label my feelings and emotions and direct my behaviour correspondingly. My wife is more confident in making important decisions and has stronger boundaries.

Today, our marriage honestly could not be better! For the first time ever, we feel we are growing as a couple—as a team, as friends, and as lovers. For that, we are very grateful.”

“Kate has an acute sensitivity for guiding her clients and instilling confidence in them so they can get over life’s hurdles—especially when us parents don’t always know what direction to go next. My son now has a full-time job. He is happy, confident, and on his way to full independency. This gives me peace of mind for his life and future that I never would have thought possible back in 2016 (before we met Kate).  Kate will always have a special place in our hearts, and we are so grateful to have been one of the first families she counselled”

“I was reluctant to start counselling, because I have had some bad experiences in the past. However, my experience with Praveen was different. She was extremely easy to connect with and created a comfortable and safe environment for me to open up. In my most difficult moments, she gave me the tools I needed.”
