Jade – Student Therapist

Jade is a passionate student therapist who is eager to embark on the journey of helping others navigate the challenges and triumphs of life.

Jade holds an Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences from the University of Ottawa and is completing her Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Jade’s educational background equips her with a solid foundation in understanding human behavior and mental health. Jade has experience working with a vulnerable population focusing on mental health and disability which has built transferable skills in her personal and professional life. Having played competitive sports throughout her adolescence into adulthood, Jade has developed a deep understanding of the pressures involved with a stressful environment. This journey has allowed Jade to experience resilience and mental fortitude teaching her valuable lessons about teamwork, perseverance, and the importance of maintaining a positive mindset under pressure. Jade has a passion for helping people who have experienced stress and hardship within their life and aims to empower, support and reconnect people with themselves.

By creating a welcoming atmosphere, Jade utilizes a person-centered approach as this approach promotes self-empowerment, is adaptable and can be tailored to individual needs. Jade is dedicated to fostering a supportive environment while employing active listening and empathizing with others. Jade is approachable, compassionate, and committed to helping others navigate their challenges, ensuring that each person feels valued and heard while in sessions. Growth is not a linear process however; the journey allows a space for vulnerability and development to occur. Jade looks forward to creating a safe and approachable setting for people to explore their thoughts and feelings as they work towards personal growth and resilience.
