Li

Li – Candidate

Li is Next Step’s newest intern and brings a wealth of professional and personal experience to her practice.  Li holds a Bachelor of Fine Art and a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University and is currently completing her Master’s in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.  Li worked in education for ten years, working with neurodivergent teens, teens with mental health challenges, behaviour challenges, and giftedness. She has been an entrepreneur for the last ten years, running several successful businesses and coaching and mentoring hundreds of women how to balance motherhood, business, and personal growth.  As the mother of two neurodivergent teens and a neurodivergent individual herself, she understands what it’s like to see and navigate the world differently.  Additionally, as a former collegiate varsity athlete and multiple national championship-winning coach, she understands the unique pressure of being an elite athlete or high achiever.  She has a passion for helping neurodivergent individuals appreciate their gifts and normalize their lived experiences, assisting women to balance their complex lives, and helping any individual who needs support.

With over twenty years of experience helping to teach, guide, mentor and coach people to feel more at home with themselves and to live more in alignment with their authentic selves, Li is excited to meet you where you are and help walk alongside you in your journey to greater peace, contentment and authenticity.  Li’s professional approach is to meet the diverse needs of her clients as fully as she can while creating a warm and empathetic environment for you to feel seen and heard.  Using a biopsychosocial approach that considers the whole person and the many factors that influence their life, Li centres your experience and challenges in her work and can help you to manage emotions, build healthy coping skills and create a meaningful life.
