Maddy Laranjo – Clinical Counsellor – Registered Social Worker
I work with adults, teens, athletes, and high-achievers navigating anxiety, perfectionism, disordered eating, body image challenges, life transitions, and burnout.
I believe that when we’re given the space to explore our inner world and past experiences, we can better understand the patterns, beliefs, and protective strategies that have shaped our story. Together, we’ll get curious about the thoughts, emotions, and parts that influence how you move through the world. Through greater self-awareness and self-compassion, we can explore ways to create a life that feels more authentic, flexible, and aligned with who you are and how you want to live.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that healing happens through connection, safety, and having a space where you can show up unapologetically as you are. With a background in Health and Exercise Sciences and competitive sport, I also view movement and nervous system regulation as a valuable tool for mental health and holistic well-being, and I often integrate this knowledge into my practice.
For disordered eating and body image support, I support clients in healing their relationship with food, movement, and their bodies through a non-diet and health at every size lens. As someone who has gone through eating disorder recovery myself, I understand the shame, fear of judgment, and emotional challenges that often arise throughout the recovery process. I also recognize how challenges with food, body image, and exercise are often intertwined with trauma, perfectionism, OCD, sport, and the influence of diet culture. With compassion and curiosity, I help clients untangle these patterns and move toward a more peaceful and trusting relationship with themselves.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, disordered eating, low self-esteem, or feeling burnt out and emotionally disconnected, you don’t have to walk this path alone. I offer in-person counselling in Kelowna and virtual sessions across British Columbia! If you’re curious about working together, I invite you to book a free 15-minute consultation call or email me at [email protected].
Outside of counselling, I’m also a movement instructor, registered kinesiologist, and trail runner. My love for community movement, connection, and holistic well-being is at the heart of my everyday life!
