Michelle Mossman – Student Therapist
I am a student therapist completing my Master’s of Counselling under the supervision of Jocelyn Watson, with a particular interest in working with neurodivergent individuals and families. I enjoy working with autistic and ADHD teens and adults, late diagnosed adults, and parents navigating their own or their child’s neurodivergence and relationships.
My own experience of being late-diagnosed AuDHD has shaped the way I understand the importance of self-compassion, identity, and making sense of a life that can suddenly look different through a new lens. I understand how exhausting it can be to be highly capable while also feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. I also understand how difficult it can be to ask for help when you have spent a long time believing you should be able to figure things out on your own and feeling like others may not understand.
Counselling is a space where you don’t have to figure it all out alone. Relationships and connection are at the heart of my work. I approach counselling with curiosity and a genuine desire to understand your perspective and experiences. I believe people are always doing the best they can with what they have, and that understanding the why behind our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours can help us identify what is and isn’t working in our lives. From there, we can explore what you value most, and the perspectives, skills, and support that can help you move forward and feel more settled in yourself.
